The main page of The Jungle Giants’ website immediately gives off a clean, aesthetically pleasing look for any fans entering the site, using a mix of black, white and pink for it’s main colour scheme, and the the addition of the marble stone and plant background as an equally clean focal point.
Links to other pages on the site are arranged neatly, backed on simple blocks of colour, giving a minimalistic feeling to the site upon first glance. The largest and most obvious link is that of the annoucement for their latest album, ‘Quiet Ferocity’, which is placed in a manner that can easily draw fans in, and will likely make them want to find out more about the band’s new album.
Another three links are also strategically placed below, advertising merchandise and music too.
Lastly, at the bottom of the page, a bar is included in which fans can input their email to join The Jungle Giants’ mailing list, allowing them to receive updates from the band.
On the “Gigs” page of The Jungle Giants website, upcoming dates, venues, locations and ticket options are shown, allowing fans to browse through various different concert options.
Furthermore, the page also includes a button which reads: “Track The Jungle Giants”, which allows fans to input their email on an associated site in order to be notified when the band will be playing in an area nearby.
The Jungle Giants also have an “About” page on their website, allowing fans and newcomers alike to read about the members and the formation of the band. Whilst this addition to the site may not be entirely necessary, it certainly allows a closer insight into the band, and paired with the laid back nature of the text in the section, implies a casual and fun atmosphere to The Jungle Giants, which is likely able to successfully draw in younger listeners in.
The Jungle Giants’ “Music” page presents visitors with an array of singles and albums that the band has produced in the past, with each link taking the visitor to another page that focuses on the particular song or album selected.
Upon clicking one of the album or song options, you are brought to a page in which the digipak cover, the album song list, and details about the album are listed together. Additionally, there are also two options on the page that show that the album is available for purchase on iTunes. Below one of these options, there is also an embedded YouTube video that can play the band’s music, allowing listeners to gain a taste of the band’s music before they seek to purchase any of their songs or albums.
My only criticism of the band’s website is that occasionally, it that it’s “News” page is somewhat cluttered and a little too large and overwhelming. Whilst it offers plenty of interesting and useful news about the band for it’s fans, the overall design of this page unfortunately looks rather “busy”, as the individual posts links looks as if they are stacked together in a somewhat disorganized manner.
